Samsung Galaxy J6 Review

Samsung Galaxy J6 is launched by the company in the 5th month of year 2018. This set is sleek and tall with the 8.2 mm thickness. Easy to hold in hands having comfortable grip. Samsung placed its own 4.45 inches super AMOLED display with HD+ (720*1480) pixels resolution which might be disappointing for some. Its colors and brightness is accurate but option for the auto-brightness is absent. This smart phone is the first ever in the Galaxy J series without any physical button on it. Its home, back and overview buttons are present on screen and may or may not appear on screen all the time. On the right this set has a power/lock button with the speaker slit and on the left they made volume buttons two SIM trays and a micro SD card. The retail box of Galaxy J6 carries a USB cable, 5V/1A (5W) adapter, wired headset, a SIM ejector tool and a guide in it.

Specifications & Software

Samsung Galaxy J6 run on a Samsung octa-sore Exynos 7870 which is the company’s favorite for its mid- range budget model. It has two variant with the 3GB of RAM and 32 GB memory or 4GB RAM with the 64GB of storage. You can’t use 4G on both SIMs at the same time. On one you can use 4G and on the second one you will use 3G at a time. It also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm headphone socket, FM radio, single band (2.4GHz). NFC and some sensors like proximity sensors, accelerometer and gyroscope are absent in the smartphone specifications. Samsung used its premium android Oreo software in this set. Android security level patch is of April, 2018.

Camera, performance and battery life

Galaxy J6 has a primary 13 MP (f/1.9 aperture) camera with LED flash, autofocus, face detection, panorama, HDR 1080p @30fps. In day light its works better but in the low light it works not in a better way even at the full brightness. Its HDR mode doesn’t improve the picture quality. Some other modes like panorama, beauty, night and others help in improving the picture quality to some extent.

Its 8MP selfie camera with the selfie light works well in the day light but fails in the low light and night. Video recording has a 1080p resolution limit with high definition. You can use funky filters and stickers on your pictures also.

The 3000mAH capacity battery is good and manages a great standby time. I personally use it and play some games on it. Battery level gets down a little bit and it did not heat up during my usage.

Final Verdict

Though the set is the mid-range smartphone but still they are charging not much less. Your money you spend on the phone is very important. It must have the body made up of metal and sturdy front glass instead of plastic. It must add magnetic sensor compass to J6 with an application of auto brightness. It is year 2018 and we need some changes in the conventional designs. The platform is the biggest draw back in this phone which is Exynos 7870 Octa (disappointing). The selfie camera must be improved as the 8MP is not enough for me and most of the other buyers.
